The Seal Mitted Ragdoll

The Seal Mitted Ragdoll is a striking and beloved variation of the Ragdoll breed. Specifically, the Seal Mitted Ragdoll is renowned for its rich, dark coloring, which sets it apart from other Ragdoll colors and patterns. In this blog post, we’ll look at the unique traits of the Seal Mitted Ragdoll that make it a standout choice. Whether you’re considering adopting one or simply interested in learning more about this color combination, you’ll find all the details you need in order to understand why the Seal Mitted Ragdoll cat is so remarkable.

Seal Mitted Ragdoll Characteristics

There are some unique physical features that make the Seal Mitted Ragdoll different from other Ragdoll Colors and Patterns. These special characteristics add to its beauty and charm!

  • Seal Point Color: The name “seal” refers to the dark chocolate-brown color on the ears, tail and face of a seal mitted Ragdoll. These areas will always remain the darkest points on a Seal Mitted Ragdoll.

  • Dark Face with Gradient Color: The Seal Mitted Ragdoll has deeper coloring on its face, which gradually lightens towards the rest of its body. This gentle transition of color gives almost an ombre affect to the pattern.

  • White “Mittens”: One of the most endearing physical features on the Seal Mitted Ragdoll is the adorable white mittens on their front paws. They remind me of squishy white marshmallows!

  • Dark Nose: The Seal Mitted Ragdoll has a dark, almost black nose that blends seamlessly into their seal facial coloring. This dark nose adds balance and beauty to their already gorgeous appearance!

Are Seal Mitted Ragdolls Popular?

The Seal Mitted Ragdoll is a frequently sought-after and popular choice. At the end of the day, it’s all about personal preference!

Are Seal Mitted Ragdolls Rare?

The Seal Mitted Ragdoll is not considered to be rare. In fact, it is probably one of the most traditional Ragdoll patterns available. Overall, the rarity of a specific color and pattern depends on factors like an individual breeder's focus, your location and the current availability of litters with that specific pattern.

What Eye Color Does a Seal Mitted Ragdoll Have?

The Seal Mitted Ragdoll has blue eyes. The Ragdoll is a blue-eyed pointed cat breed. So, Ragdolls should not have any eye color other than blue. The color of blue can vary on a spectrum from a deep navy to a pale sky, but it should never be green, gold or brown. Ragdolls advertised with eye colors other than blue (or as mink, sepia and solid) are not true Ragdolls. Often, these cats fall into a different breed category called “Cherubim”.

Seal Mitted Ragdoll vs. Seal Lynx Mitted Ragdoll

The Seal Lynx Mitted Ragdoll is a very similar pattern to the Seal Mitted Ragdoll. The two patterns are quite alike since they are both mitted in the seal color. The only difference between the two is that the Seal Lynx Mitted Ragdoll has lynx overlay. This adds tabby striping and more shade variation to its coat.
